Vascular Surgery has officially existed as a recognized specialty since the 1990s at the Nicosia General Hospital.

In June 2017, the Vascular Surgery Clinic was established as part of the upgrade of Health Services during the tenure of Minister Mr. George Pamboridis.

The clinic consists of:

• the inpatient ward
• the day care unit
• the Vascular Laboratory (5,000 vascular ultrasounds annually)
• the catheterization unit, where a wide range of endovascular and hybrid interventions are performed

There is also the possibility of immediate patient assessment at the outpatient clinics every Monday and Wednesday.

The full spectrum of vascular interventions is provided, with more than one thousand surgeries performed annually, both open and endovascular—mainly endovascular using stent/grafts.

Indicatively, endovascular repair of aneurysms is performed (EVAR, TEVAR, PEVAR, COMPLEX ENDOVASCULAR AORTIC PROCEDURES), treatment of carotid disease (CAS, CEA),

as well as removal of varicose veins using the most modern endovascular methods (RFA, Venaseal).

The clinic’s emblem is safety, autonomy in the management of all conditions and complications, and effectiveness, which is why it is an internationally recognized reference center.

The clinic’s core principles are safety, self-sufficiency in providing effective treatments for all diseases and their complications. Adhering to the above the clinic has become an internationally recognised centre of reference.
