The Surgical Clinic of Nicosia General Hospital is the largest surgical clinic in Cyprus, with 56 beds for the hospitalization of both emergency and scheduled cases.

The Surgical Clinic is comprised of experienced surgeons with significant further specialization in various fields of General Surgery, thus covering the full spectrum of needs of the Cypriot population. Specifically, specialized surgical teams manage diseases of the endocrine glands (thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal), breast, abdominal wall (inguinal hernias, incisional hernias, umbilical hernia, etc.), esophagus and stomach, biliary tract and pancreas, small and large intestine & rectum, as well as the anus. Particular emphasis is placed on the application of modern minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgical techniques.
As part of the management of neoplastic diseases, multidisciplinary oncology boards operate in collaboration with other hospital specialties, aiming to provide the best possible treatment for our patients.
Special importance is also placed on the management of emergency cases and trauma. The clinic is staffed by highly trained and experienced surgeons who are also responsible for training Cypriot doctors in the management of polytrauma patients.
Educational and research activity is an integral part of the clinic’s daily work. Strategic collaboration with the Medical School of the University of Cyprus is of great significance for both clinical and research development.
