Clinic Profile

The physicians of the Hepatology Clinic of the Internal Medicine Department have been examining patients with liver-related problems for more than 15 years. The clinic investigates and manages the full spectrum of hepatology patients (viral hepatitis, drug-induced hepatitis, metabolic liver diseases, autoimmune liver diseases, congenital hepatopathies, follow-up of patients with liver transplantation, etc.).

The physicians of the Hepatology Clinic, internists with a special interest in hepatology, have received training by attending the “Hepatology School” of the Hellenic Association for the Study of the Liver in Greece, a one-year program with monthly visits to hepatology centers in Greek hospitals. They also frequently participate in various hepatology conferences in Greece and across Europe.

The physicians of the Hepatology Clinic maintain close collaborations with specialized hospitals and doctors abroad, such as King’s College Hospital and Royal Free Hospital in London, as well as the University Hospital of Paris, particularly regarding the evaluation and follow-up of patients with severe liver conditions (e.g. transplant evaluation). In addition, there is close cooperation with gastroenterologists, radiologists, hepatobiliary surgeons, pathologists, dietitians, and other specialties in Cyprus and abroad when necessary.

Over the last 10 years, an extensive archive of approximately 1,500 patient records under follow-up has been created (these files are part of the official hospital medical records).
