Famagusta General Hospital operates a Haemodialysis Unit and Outpatient Nephrology Clinics. The Haemodialysis Unit offers services related to the full range of Nephrology, such as investigation, monitoring and treatment of both acute cases and chronic kidney diseases and placement of temporary central venous dialysis catheters, by specialised and experienced medical and nursing staff.

The Nephrology Department collaborates with the University of Cyprus to investigate rare genetic diseases related to the kidneys, aiming for timely prevention and treatment.

The department provides a comprehensive therapeutic management program for kidney diseases, including:

Haemodialysis Unit

The department facilitates the dialysis needs using modern Fresenius 5008 dialysis machines. The Haemodialysis Unit operates 7 days a week (Monday to Sunday) and can also provide services to tourists visiting the area for holidays.

The department implements the latest and most advanced diagnostic tests, including:

Haematological and biochemical examinations, Complete immunological evaluation, State-of-the-art imaging tests such as routine or digital radiographs, computed tomography (CT) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), renal scintigraphy, PET-CT, and others

It collaborates with other specialties for performing biopsies and histopathological examination for any organ/system.
