Profile

The Neurology Department at Limassol General Hospital provides specialised services for the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients with a wide range of neurological conditions, including:

• Vascular brain incidents, both ischemic and haemorrhagic
• Epilepsy and seizure disorders
• Migraine and other types of headaches and intense facial pain (Trigeminal Neuralgia)
• Multiple Sclerosis
• Dementias such as Alzheimer’s disease and other cognitive syndromes
• Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders (Familial Tremor, etc.)
• Polyneuropathies – Myopathies
• Spinal root and disc conditions
• Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
• Balance, gait, and mobility disorders
• Myasthenia Gravis
• Diagnostic Tests

The department performs Neurophysiological diagnostic examinations, including Electroencephalography (EEG) and Electroneuromyography (ENMG), for both outpatients by appointment and inpatients admitted to various departments of the hospital.

Day Care:

There is a day care unit available for intravenous therapy administration and lumbar punctures for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes.

Inpatient care:

Our department’s Liaison Service oversees the provision of specialised care and monitoring on a daily basis for in-patients in all departments of the hospital, including the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Our specialists aim to provide optimal medical care focusing on a patient-centric approach.

Medical Education:

The Neurology Department also offers clinical education to students of the Medical School at the University of Nicosia.
