The Ophthalmology Department at Larnaca General Hospital provides specialised services for a wide range of eye conditions, including:

Purely Ophthalmic Conditions: Bulbar injuries (surgical management), Cataracts (surgical management), Glaucoma (conservative and surgical management), Pterygium, Hail, Corneal diseases, Lacrimal apparatus and eyelid disorders, Choroidal diseases and Refractive abnormalities.

Numerous other eye conditions such as:

Inflammatory and degenerative conditions, systemic autoimmune diseases, and vasculitis (e.g., SLE, Sjogren’s syndrome, Wegener’s disease), as well as medication-related issues.

The Ophthalmology Department is fully equipped and continuously upgraded. There are three fully equipped outpatient clinics with slit lamps, Goldmann tonometers, pneumotonometers, and keratometers.

The Ophthalmology Department offers the following diagnostic services:

Visual fields, IOL master, OCT (Ocular Coherence Tomography), Fluorescein angiography, A-B scan

For therapeutic purposes, the department can perform a range of interventions using: SLT laser, VAG laser, Argon Laser, brand new phacoemulsification machine and a surgical microscope.
