The Department of Urology has a capacity of 28 beds and is collocated with the Surgery Clinic on the 5th floor. The three specialist urologists that are employed in the Clinic perform the following:

Every Tuesday, in the microsurgery room on the 4th floor, invasive urological operations under local anaesthesia such as:

Prostate biopsies

Stent placement and replacement

Cystoscopy

Bladder biopsy

Placement and replacement of suprapubic catheter

Urethral Dilatation

Cauterization of genital warts Penile – foreskin microsurgeries etc.

Every Wednesday minor to major urological surgeries such as:

Transurethral resection of bladder tumours

Transurethral resection of prostate

Transcystic prostatectomy

Nephrectomy

TURis

Hydrocele

Varicocele

Phimosis – circumcision

Ureterolithotripsy

Cystolithotripsy

Placement and replacement of nephrostomy tube

Incontinence tape placement Reconstructive surgery for Peyronie’s disease
