The clinic has been operated since 2012 by Dr. Onoufriou in collaboration with the visiting consultant Paediatric Rheumatologist Dr. D. Maritsi. The latter visits the clinic from Athens 3 times per year for examining cases requiring further evaluation.
In between, the patients are monitored by Dr. Onoufriou in a regular Paediatric Rheumatology Clinic once a week. Around 200 cases from the entire spectrum of Paediatric Rheumatology are systematically monitored (Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, Scleroderma, Vasculitis, Adamantiades-Behcet Syndrome, sarcoidosis, Mediterranean fever and other recurrent fever syndromes, autoimmune uveitis, rheumatic fever, antiphospholipid syndrome etc).
The clinic serves a large number of referrals for investigation of possible rheumatic diseases and follow-ups until a diagnosis is reached. Referrals are issued by hospitals, private clinics, ophthalmologists and rheumatologists from all over Cyprus. On Fridays and Wednesdays, the clinic serves emergencies and unscheduled visits.
