Clinic Profile

The Internal Medicine Clinic of Troodos Hospital has 20 beds at its disposal and covers the entire spectrum of internal medicine. It is staffed by 4 doctors (three internists and one cardiologist), 19 nurses, and 7 ward assistants. Both the medical and nursing staff, as well as the auxiliary personnel, are highly trained, experienced, and have an unparalleled sense of responsibility. It provides high-quality healthcare services to a large number of patients annually, both inpatients and outpatients, in the wider Troodos region.

Our mission is the prevention, diagnosis, and therapeutic management of internal medicine conditions.

Our Clinic offers the following diagnostic services: abdominal ultrasound, kidney ultrasound, prostate ultrasound, thyroid ultrasound, echocardiography (ECHO), stress tests, 24-hour heart rhythm monitoring (Holter-ECG), and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring (Holter-BP).

The Clinic provides:

  • 24/7 coverage for hospitalized patients and patients visiting the Emergency Department (ED)
  • Management of acute conditions

Diagnosis and treatment of:

  • Gastrointestinal diseases: gastrointestinal bleeding, enterorrhagia, pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel diseases.
  • Cardiological diseases: myocardial infarction, pulmonary edema, arrhythmias, endocarditis, myocarditis, and pericarditis.
  • Respiratory diseases: acute and chronic conditions, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, interstitial lung diseases.
  • Vascular diseases: embolism, thrombosis, peripheral arterial disease.
  • Neurological diseases: stroke, epilepsy, central nervous system infections.
  • Nephrological diseases: acute and chronic renal failure, electrolyte imbalances.
  • Urological diseases: urinary tract obstruction, prostate diseases.
  • Diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, hypertension, dyslipidemias, metabolic bone diseases (e.g., osteoporosis), and autoimmune collagen diseases.
  • Management and treatment of complex cases and rare diseases.
  • Comprehensive preventive medicine services, with planning of all necessary tests based on the patient’s characteristics.

Our close collaboration with colleagues and departments at the General Hospitals of Limassol and Nicosia allows for the immediate transfer of patients for invasive diagnostic tests and treatments when deemed necessary. We practice evidence-based medicine with a patient-centered approach, providing high-quality modern medical care and personalized health services.

Both the medical and nursing staff participate in conferences and seminars, both in Cyprus and abroad, and are continuously updated on developments in the field of internal medicine and medicine in general.
