Dr. Savvidou is a distinguished physician specializing in Internal Medicine, with particular interest in Diabetes Mellitus and Hemoglobinopathies, and has a long-standing career at the Thalassaemia Clinic of Nicosia.
She graduated from the English School of Nicosia.
She studied at the Medical School of University College London (UCL), from which she graduated in 1999 (MBBS).
She completed her specialty training in Internal Medicine, working in hospitals including UCLH (University College London Hospital), Luton & Dunstable Hospital, and the Nicosia General Hospital. She obtained her Master of Science (MSc) in Nutritional Medicine in 2009 from the University of Surrey.
Since 2006, she has been working at the Nicosia Thalassaemia Clinic, where she treats patients with hemoglobinopathies, mainly β-thalassaemia and sickle cell anemia.
She is the Deputy Coordinator of the European Reference Network for Rare Hematological Diseases (ERN).
She teaches medical students as an associate at the Medical School of the European University Cyprus.
