Ioannis Orfanos graduated from the School of Medicine of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1993. He obtained his specialty in Orthopaedics in 2001. He has held a PhD from the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens since 2004. He also holds an MSc in Health Services Management from the National School of Public Health (ESDY), awarded in 2017.
He is a member of the Hellenic College of Orthopaedic Surgeons (KEOX), following examinations in 2001, and a member of the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society. He holds a Licence to Perform Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, granted by the Ministry of Health of Greece following examinations in 2004. He completed a fellowship in the Ilizarov technique in 2014.
He teaches Anatomy at the Medical School of the University of Cyprus. He has worked at the following hospitals:
