Dr Papadouri graduated from the Medical School of Humboldt University–Charité in Berlin and specialised in Paediatrics, obtaining subspecialty training in Neonatal Intensive Care at the University Paediatric Clinic of Leipzig and Humboldt University–Charité. She also completed further postgraduate training, funded by a scholarship from the Ministry of Health of Cyprus, at Humboldt University–Charité, focusing on continuous monitoring of neonatal brain function. Her PhD thesis was conducted at the University Paediatric Clinic in Leipzig.

She holds two Master’s degrees: one in Health Unit Management and one in Bioethics–Medical Ethics.

In 2015, she was promoted to Assistant Director of Paediatrics, and since 2017 she has served as Scientific Lead of the NICU at AMH III, responsible for developing and supervising clinical protocols. As of September 2023, she holds the position of Director of Paediatrics with a subspecialty in Neonatal Intensive Care.

She has an extensive scientific portfolio, with numerous publications and presentations in internationally recognised journals and textbooks, and has been invited as a speaker at many national and international conferences and seminars.

She coordinated the scientific team responsible for the Greek translation of the manual “Neonatal Life Support” and contributed to the scientific review of the Greek translation of “Paediatric Basic Life Support” by the European Resuscitation Council (ERC).

She is the national coordinator for several European research programmes, as well as for the ERC’s Neonatal Life Support (NLS) programme in Cyprus. She actively participates in key national bodies and committees, including the National Breastfeeding Committee, the Committee Monitoring the Implementation of the Strategy for the Promotion of Normal Childbirth and Reduction of Prematurity in Cyprus, the National Committee for the Management of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, the Ethics and Deontology Committee of OKYPY, and the Perinatal Health Coordination Group (Europeristat) of the Health Monitoring Unit of the Ministry of Health.

She is actively involved in clinical training for paediatric residents and neonatal subspecialty trainees, as well as in educational programmes of the Nursing Services Directorate of the Ministry of Health for the training of nurses and midwives. She is a Special Scientist at the Medical School of the University of Cyprus and has taught for many years in the undergraduate and postgraduate Nursing–Midwifery programmes of CUT and the European University. She has also served as an Honorary Associate Professor at the Medical School of the University of Nicosia–St George’s University of London.

She has served on the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Paediatric Society and the Cyprus Resuscitation Council. She is currently President of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Perinatal Medicine Society and a member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Intensive Care Society. Additionally, she is a member of the Hellenic Neonatal Society and the German Society of Neonatology and Paediatric Intensive Care.
