Dr. Christofides has been working at Nicosia General Hospital since October 2017, providing high level services related to Liver / Pancreatic diseases. He received many years of training in Liver / Pancreatic Surgery and Transplantation, at internationally renowned centres such as Pesbyterian Hospital / New York of Columbia University of Medicine USA, Freeman Hospital Newcastle Upon Tyne NHS Trust and Hammersmith Hospital Imperial College NHS Trust United Kingdom. He holds a Master’s Degree (ChM) in General Surgery from the University of Edinburgh, and a PhD from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
He is a graduate of the Semmelweis Medical School in Budapest and has been a certified General Surgeon since 2007 (Athens Prefecture / Greek Ministry of Health). He received several academic distinctions / awards, including a Postgraduate Scholarship of the Hellenic Surgical Society.
He is a member of a number of Professional Societies / Associations such as: European-HPB Association, European Association of Endoscopic Surgery, the International Liver Surgeon Association, the Pancreatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
